The UK Pension For UK Migrants In Aussie

Apparently there no exchange agreement between UK and Australia over pension rights etc

Recently one dual nationale applied for a UK pension just to see what would happen

1. you have to prove who you are with documents etc, going back 65 yrs etc

2.if you paid national health insurance etc at 14 yrs old-it dont count

3.payments only count for a pension from 16 yrs old= 2yrs payments get nothing

4.payments from 16yrs old must continue for 11 yrs to get a pension

5.paying for example 6yrs dont count and get you nothing

6.a recent pension was granted for 89 pence per wk -payable lump sum end of year

Lesson :

to all UK people in Australia become Aussie citizens before you retire -make things very much easier

Australia looks after you better than UK
