[Photo]Extorre Gold Mines Ltd. ("TSX-XG") is a Canadian gold-silver company operating in Argentina. Formed in March 2010 as a spinout from Exeter Resource Corporation, Extorre is currently transitioning from gold explorer to gold producer status on its very high grade Cerro Moro project. Cash on hand is C$25 million with no debt.
The recently discovered Cerro Moro project is situated near a deepwater port and within an established gold mining district. Other mine operators in the area include AngloGold Ashanti and Pan American Silver. 178 drill holes have defined a NI43-101 compliant resource of 646,000 oz. gold equivalent, at the very high grade of half an ounce of gold per ton. Very significantly for investors, a new resource estimate, incorporating an additional 327 drill holes is scheduled for release this month (April 2010). Extorre is currently conducting mine design and environmental studies that will lead to a mid year decision to seek government approval for a 100,000 oz/yr gold mine.
In the meantime, exploration drilling at Cerro Moro and on other Extorre gold properties will continue through 2010 - a program designed to maintain the growth profile of a company on its way to becoming a mid-tier gold - silver producer.
